For most of my adult life I have been a chronic sufferer of heavy snoring. It has affected every aspect of my personal and professional life. As a reporter that travels the world on a consistent basis it can be very difficult to get a good nights rest.
Imagine flying oversees a dozen times a year and not being able to sleep because you don’t want to disturb the other passengers with your thunder-like snores. Or sleeping in a small village in Africa, and attracting all the wildlife possible because they want to come and check out what the ruckus is? It’s really no fun.
Luckily, after decades of dealing with my problem I found solution that works and is easy to travel with. It is an anti snoring device called Good Morning Snore Solution. The concept of it’s design in pretty new. Known as a tongue stabilizing device it pulls your tongue forward while you sleep and keeps it from blocking your airway.
It is also so light and small that I can carry it to the most remote of places in the world and never have a problem. What an amazing feeling?
What solutions have worked for you to stop your snoring issues? We’d love to hear about it.
It’s a glamorous lifestyle. You get to travel the world and you get to talk to interesting people from all different backgrounds and learn about a wide array of topics. But what we don’t think about when it comes to news reporting is how it can affect our bodies.
Over the last two decades of news reporting, I have suffered from multiple health conditions. None of which are all that glamorous. Here are a few highlights.
1. Broken Ankle
This one happened while exploring the volcanic lava flow of the San Francisco Peaks wilderness in Arizona. Add a little rain to some sharp slippery lava rocks and you almost inevitably get an injury.
2. Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Almost a given in the industry is the development of some sort of gut issue. When you travel the globe, constantly trying new cuisines, it is almost inevitable to mess up your belly.
3. Toenail Fungus
There is nothing like walking along the white sand beaches of Costa Rica in the summertime with full closed toed shoes and even socks because you are suffering from a severe fungal infection. Luckily an anti fungal solution called “Funginix” has since treated and cured this problem. Flip flop freedom achieved!
4. Herniated Disc
By far the worst of my ailments has been a herniated disc in my lumbar spine. However, I seriously can’t complain. I hurt my back on what was probably the most epic base jumping trip of my life. No pain, no gain.
All in all, despite these and many other illnesses along the way, journalism is by far the best career out there.
